IFB 20BC5 20L Convection Microwave Oven

The IFB 20BC5 is a 20L convection microwave tailored specifically for the needs of small Indian families or urban professionals living in 1BHK or 2BHK flats. In the Indian context, where kitchen platform space is often limited, its compact footprint is a significant advantage, requiring only a 10-15cm ventilation gap. The 20L capacity is ideal for a nuclear couple or a bachelor, comfortably fitting standard Borosil bowls for reheating dal or subzi. One of its standout features is the high-grade stainless steel cavity; unlike epoxy-coated interiors, this material is highly resistant to the permanent yellow staining caused by turmeric and oil-heavy Indian tadkas, making it much easier to maintain over years of use. Technically, the 20BC5 is robust, featuring a 10-level power adjustment and 24 Indian auto-cook menus that simplify complex recipes like Paneer Tikka or Gajar ka Halwa. Since it is a convection model, it supports true baking and grilling, allowing urban hobbyists to explore cakes and roasted snacks. It is BIS-certified for safety and includes a child lock—an essential feature for Indian homes with young children. For power, it operates on a standard 230V 50Hz supply but requires a 15A dedicated socket due to its 800W microwave power and heating elements. The brand's 3-year warranty on the magnetron and cavity offers peace of mind against Indian power fluctuations. Regarding running costs, a typical Indian household using this for 15 minutes daily for reheating and tea will see a modest monthly electricity bill increase of approximately ₹60 to ₹80, depending on local slab rates. Overall, it is a mid-range powerhouse that balances performance with the heritage trust of IFB's pan-India service network.
